Justin came in today and I took the opportunity to shoot a headshot several different ways for comparison. He wasn’t sure exactly what he wanted so we used both natural light and studio light, as well as different backdrop colors, to find the best combination for him. The shot on the far left is natural light, very even across the face, and a cream background, not as stark as pure white but still clean and light. On the middle shot we switched to studio lighting, meaning a flash with light modifier. The light is more directional, crisp, and creates some shaping on the face. After reviewing the effect Justin preferred the studio lighting, but with a darker background, so the far right photo is on a grey background using studio light.
