Clothing
Choose pieces that FIT. Try on everything well before the shoot to make sure you like how they look so you have time if dry cleaning, altering, or shopping is needed. Make sure clothes are clean, pressed, and free of pet hair and lint.
Clothes that are tailored and fit close to the body are more flattering than loose or baggy pieces. Solid colors photograph well. In general, avoid busy prints/patterns, fussy details, and identifiable logos.
Grooming
Have you hairstyle trimmed and updated, and colored or highlighted if applicable. Moisturize to avoid dry skin and chapped lips. Avoid activities that can result in sunburn, windburn, or reactions to peels or procedures.
Abstaining from alcohol and getting a full night of sleep prior to the session helps your skin and eyes look bright and smooth. If your teeth are not at white as you would wish, please utilize whitening strips, pens, or other options to brighten your smile.
Retouching
Basic retouching includes: blemish removal, undereye brightening, and removal of obvious flyaway hairs. Editing of other issues such as wrinkled or ill-fitting clothing, stains, weight, body shape, or is an additional charge.
Please bring more than one outfit option in case your primary selection does not photograph well. If there are specific things that you have liked or disliked about previous headshots, please communicate that to the photographer.
Selection
When you arrive for your session, we will photograph you in at least 1-2 outfit options, depending on direction from AJC. After shooting a variety of poses, we will review the images together on a large screen and you will select your favorites. These will be billed to AJC, retouched, and delivered digitally in about 3-5 business days.
You may select and pay for additional images for your own LinkedIn or other usage if desired.
